welcome

The Krishna-Avanti Primary School is UK's first Hindu faith-based Voluntary Aided state school (and as such does not charge fees). The School is a one-form of entry, mixed primary school with an attached nursery. The nursery will open in September 2009 when the new building opens on Camrose Avenue, Edgware HA8 6ES.

The School is quickly becoming a full and active member of Harrow's community, involving itself in inter-school activities, outreach and community work with local residents and children of all faiths and cultural background.

The School is working in affiliation with ISKCON (the International Society for Krishna Consciousness) as the official faith advisor and is being promoted by I-Foundation.

And a message from the Head Teacher:

At the Krishna-Avanti Primary School, the staff and governors aim to provide a world class learning environment where all pupils are valued and encouraged to realise their spiritual, emotional and academic potential.

Ours is a school where every child and adult matters, and where we foster positive and lasting partnerships within the school, and with parents, local communities, other Harrow schools, and the School’s faith advisor.

We aim to create an effective, calm and happy learning environment where the vision and mission statements are practically “lived”, and the best of professional practice is enriched with the ancient Vedic wisdom.

We recognise and take our duty seriously. We ensure that we promote community cohesion, by inclusion and by valuing inter-cultural and religious diversity.

Our school recognises the importance of innovation and responding to government priorities. We ensure our pupils are equipped with lifelong skills and attitudes essential to their making outstanding contributions to all aspects of British society.

I look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school.

Naina Parmar, Head Teacher
