Krishna Avanti School

What an amazing end to the term with Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II visiting our school! It is a tremendous, historical event for the school and it was an immense privilege to be part of this memorable occasion.

Krishna-Avanti hosted a spectacular community event organised by Harrow Council in celebration of Diamond Jubilee on

29 March 2012.

Hundreds lined up on Camrose Avenue to catch a glimpse of the Queen. As the Queen's car entered the school she was greeted by the children who were absolutely ecstatic waving flags and cheering alongside their parents. Her Majesty The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh were greeted by the following: Guard of Honour, Deputy Lieutenant, The Mayor of Harrow, Leader of the Council, Leader of the Opposition, Chief Executive of Harrow and Nitesh Gor, Governor at our school and Chair of Avanti School's Trust, who thereafter accompanied HRH throughout the visit.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were then introduced to school staff and HRH signed the School's visitors' book.

Our Year 1 pupils performed Sri Krishna Caitanya, a classical Indian song followed by the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra to the Royal Party in the school's temple.

The Queen unveiled a beautiful tapestry and plaque.

Memories of this visit

will be one that will not be forgotten.
