Here you will find an introduction to our teaching and support staff members so you can get to know them. Mrs Naina ParmarHead teacher Naina has been involved in various leadership and executive roles during her time as a teacher and Senior Leader within Primary Education. She is a Farmington Fellow and an Advanced Skills Teacher for Religious Education. She held two consultancy roles within the QCA (Qualifications Curriculum Authority) for, Religious Education and the Primary curriculum. Naina's experience ranges from holding an executive position for the National Association of Teachers for Religious Education to a judiciary role as Chair of Appeals for Haringey Democratic Services and NUT (National Union of Teachers) representative for Haringey SACRE (Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education). Her work on Creating Safe Learning Environment, Celebrating Similarities and Differences, has been recognised and published in 'Religious Diversity and Intercultural Education: A reference book for Schools by the European Commission in Strasbourg. Naina also has extensive voluntary experience in working for the community to support vulnerable children and families. Mrs Sandra ClarkTeacher and Acting Deputy Head Teacher Mrs Clark is a qualified teacher and her specialty subject is history. She has spent over 25 years studying the Vedas. This involved her in extensive global travel and led to her experiencing the richness of cultural and inter religious diversity. Working in Canada, United States and a variety of African countries inspired her to think globally and inspire children to think creatively, linking the whole curriculum. Sandra has taken a leading role in setting up and managing private nurseries and the very first independent Hindu primary school in the UK. Her most recent teaching post was in a Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided School in Hertfordshire. Mr Hirani Mr Hirani is a qualified teacher with PGCE in Primary Education as well as a BSc degree in Mathematics with Computing. He has spent over five years teaching in the state primary education sector. He enjoys finding creative ways to implement ICT and Mathematics across the curriculum to ensure children get the necessary life skills in these key areas. He has been studying the Vedas for over 10 years. Miss Allen Miss Allen is a qualified teacher with a BEd Honours degree in Primary Education. Her degree was over three years and she specialised in Mathematics, Art and Early Years. She has been studying the Vedas throughout her life and enjoys embedding her knowledge in creative ways to enhance the children’s spiritual, emotional and moral development. Mrs S. Parmar Teaching Assistant in year 1 Mrs Parmar has a Bachelors degree in Microbiology (B.Sc.) and has done diploma in Laboratory Technologist. She recently completed a Childminding qualification, Interpreting skills for hospitality OCN level 3 and Learning and supporting Assistant level 2. She enjoys using her creative skills in the class rooms with the children.
Mrs. Patel has a BA degree in English literature from India. She completed level 3 in CLANSA TEACHING ASSISTANT COURSE in 2005 and Level:2 Certificate in Support work in school in 2009. She is presently completing a Level:3 child care course for foundation stage and 0-16 years.
She currently holds a qualification as a paediatric first aider. Mrs E. Beltran Teaching Assistant- Nursery Class Mrs Beltran is from Madrid, Spain, where she undertook her degree in Geography and History and immediately after became part of ISKCON community in 1992. She then travelled to India where she lived four years immersing herself in the study of Indian Philosophy, music and yoga. In 2000 she came to London, got married and started our family life. Our daughter is one of the fortunate children of Krishna-Avanti. I am a qualified Spanish teacher for adults and a children’s Yoga teacher, and also a Level 3 Teaching Assistant.
Mr H. Kular Site Manager/ Health and Safety Manager
I hold an advanced diploma in business studies and have attended various health and safety courses held at Harrow Council. Courses include HSE at the work place, risk assessments, safety and security at the working place, fire warden/fire marshal training.
Mrs Nilam JivanBusiness Manager Mrs Jivan has extensive experience working in a variety of corporate bodies. She has professional experience in PA, secretarial, accounting and office management roles. Her most recent post was as a PA for the Director of Finance within the public sector. Mrs N. Mrs Kumar joined Krishna-Avanti Primary School in January 2010. She is thoroughly enjoying working with parents, children and the community.
Mrs Kumar’s previous experience of working in GP surgery as a Practice Administrator has enabled her to provide guidance and support in a busy school environment.
Mr J Hwangbo
Admissions Officer
After achieving first degree on Public Administration, Mr Hwangbo served in the Korean Army as a Lieutenant. In 1997 he joined ISKCON, served in the Bhaktivedanta Manor for 10 years. In 2008 he completed MA course on Indian Philosophy. |
