Our pupils have worked really hard this year in the gardens. However, the fruit and vegetables will require watering and harvesting throughout the summer in order for them to stay alive. Please contact Mrs Clark via school office e-mail

Snana Yatra all pupils from Nursery to Year 2 participated in the Abhishek ceremony for Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra. Pupils enjoyed bathing the Deities in yogurt, milk and rose waster whilst engaging in a wonderful kirtan.
The Dieties will be asleep until 5th July due to catching a cold. Children may bring fruit, flowers, get well cards, or gifts for the Dieties if they wish.
We will be holding a Ratha Yatra festival on the 5th of July for the children.

A statement by Mrs Clark about how we work together with our cluster schools to ensure community cohesion.
We work with schools in a variety of ways to support community cohesion. Here are some recent examples.
Woodlands We have kept strong links with Woodlands. Our pupils met their special needs pupils in 2008 when we were situated there. The pupils from both schools benefitted by working together on a weekly basis. Autistic pupils had experience working with our mainstream pupils and our pupils learnt that all children are precious and should be valued and respected. I recall with great pleasure a day a few months ago when one of our year 1 pupils introduced me to his new friend from Woodlands. The friend was severely disabled in a wheelchair but the pupils valued his relationship due to the fact that the child visited every Friday afternoon at lunchtime and playtime. We continue to host the Woodlands pupils and our children look forward to their fornightly visits. They are becoming more confident to share their meals with Woodlands pupils and have visited them in their setting this year.
We are presently supporting a Woodland's teacher by providing her with an opportunity to complete her QTS here at KAPS.
Camrose Primary School Several classes from Camrose have visited us this year. We enjoy facilitating them with topics about Hinduism, special places, ancient temples, environmental buildings and contrasting environments. We hope to develop a pack of resources for schools in the cluster so we can continue to serve the community of schools. We are planning to visit their forest garden and gypsy caravan this summer so we can learn about other cultures and adopt new techniques in our outdoor areas.
Stag Lane We have worked with Stag Lane by attending moderations and working together to assess year 2 levels in literacy and the Foundation Stage. We have invited them to work with us by visiting and sharing information.
Clore Shalom School We have on ongoing relationship Clore Shalom. We have worked on Jewish and Hindu celebrations where pupil led work has predonimated. Both schools appreciate working together and learning from each other.
Community Schools We have a recent link with Shenley Primary School to facilitate pupil led learning. Our pupils enjoyed being taught literacy by a local seven year old and this has the impact of inspiring them to create lessons, read to the class and think deeply about the curriculum.
Local Churches Parents enjoyed performing their carol concert celebration at St Lawrence Church this year and learning about Easter. Father Paul and Keith Tarring have supported us by giving talks about Easter and Christmas which enriches our Multi-Faith RE and ethos.
Extra Curricular Activities We invite the local community to our events and fetes and have asked local neighbours to get involved in conservation work. We enjoy working with the local community representative and would like to become more integreted with the local community. A local gardener visits us from time to time and has become a grandfather figure for our pupils. He as donated seeds and resources and advises us on rotations crops. Last years work was a success do the collaborative effort of neighbours, parents and teachers.
Clubs Local people from the community have taken the lead in some of our clubs ranging from Football, Martial Arts and we are hoping to create more interest by promoting environmental awareness.
17th February 2011
Mr Azmat Ali, a trustee from the Harrow Mosque, visited the pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The pupils learned about the mosque, how Muslims pray and some of the similarities and differences between Hinduism and Islam.
